Bael leaf, also known as “Bilva” or “thridalam” “Wood Apple leaf,” refers to the leaves of the Bael tree (Aegle marmelos). The Bael tree is native to India and is highly revered in Hindu culture as per Sanatana Dharma for its religious and medicinal significance.
Religious as we believe that Maa Parvati, Maa Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati reside in Bilva tree and thereby the most favourite of Lord Shiva and Bhagawan Vishnu.
Medicinally, all the parts of Bael tree – leaves, fruit, bark, roots are used in preparing various Ayurvedic medicines because of their balancing nature of the three Doshas
